Everybody in Exmouth market could see that headline today… Of course it’s not a real news or I’m leaving in the twitlight zone.
But maybe it means that a lot of Londoners don’t really want the Olympics here in 2012. After the joy and the happiness to be selected as the Olympics city (just in front of Paris…) the feeling change day after in the Londoners’ heart. They all see the mess on the streets, on the tube, the refurbishment of the streets and the bad traffic created by all that… But it’s not just because of that… London is in a big financial trouble with the subprimes problems and on the top of that … the budget of the Olympics has been tripled.
What about the budget ?
In 2005, London announced 3,4 billions £ … Now : 9,3 billions £. When they realized that, organisers hoped Gordon Brown gave them a hand… Gordon said “No way”… He never liked the idea to have the Olympics in London. So as Londoners we pay for the Olympics…. That is normal but how much… we will see at the beginning of 2009.

It’s finally the same. I’m not any more in Paris who people are laughing at this moment and should be happy to escape at that mess. But I’m happy to leave in a futur Olympics city Paris or London I don’t care. You suffer of the mess but as an Est-Londoner I really enjoy to see more and more new building, greener and safer area. I enjoy to see people who could leave in few years in decent flats…
