Gordon Brown violent ???
That’s everywhere today, in every newspaper, even the French ones. Yesterday, The Observer published some pages of a book written by the editorialist Andrew Rawnsley. In his book, he mentions a lot of Brown’s angry reactions against his staff… What the fuck ? It really seems that the Prime Minister is attacked from everywhere on everything. Few months ago, a lot of journalists said he was sick and not really able to be prime minister and now he’s violent… Ok maybe yes, but i’d like some proofs to believe it.
What the book says ?
The editorialist who wrote the book told for example that Brown one day was very angry about a bad news he had. He was in his car and punch the seat in front of him. A policeman was sit on it and was very surprised. Another member of his staff sit close to the Prime minister get very scared, he thought Brown was going to give him a punch on his face…
Violence and proofs
Wahou… That’s violence for you… Not really for me. You can get angry and has some reaction like that. He didn’t punch anyone at the end. And I really believe if he already punched some members of his staff, someone would have complained … So happy to give an info like that to the police and the press… After all this is UK, the country of the gossips…
By the way, Gordon said those accusations were false… Maybe he lied… But to trust or Gordon or the book I would like some real proofs…

A little bit of UK Culture with EastEnders
Culture… Yes. Obviously EastEnders is a big part of the UK culture. Everybody know this TV serie, even if they don’t watch it. Why I speak about that today because it’s the 25th anniversary of the serie and every media talk about it…
What is EastEnders ?
Basically EastEnders is a UK soap opera based in East London, Hackney to be more precise. It’s a bit like “Plus Belle La Vie“, but in London so no sun, no OM, just rain. The show began with two episodes every week in 1985 and moved to 4 episodes per week in 2001. You can follow it on BBC One. The only remaining member of the original cast of EastEnders is Ian Beale, played by Adam Woodyatt. He was 16 when the show began.
So it works like Plus Belle la vie just because it’s normal people in a normal environment. People feel close to the characters.
What is happening tonight ?
For the 25th anniversary, they are doing a live episode. Typical of UK TV. Everything is live in here, and that’s great because it brings more life. So that’s one of the big thing, but the bigger thing is a revelation… It’s more than one week people have made suggestionsm and they don’t stop talking about the big revelation… Who is the killer of Archie ???
So let’s have a look tonight… I personally don’t follow EastEnders, even if I used to live quite close, it’s not really my cup of tea, but maybe tonight I’ll have a look and I will remember with nostalgia my evenings in France watching Plus belle ta life (a little thought for my very good friend Ariane).
Rape : The fault of the victims
This morning one of my friends sent me a BBC article ab0ut rape. And I was really shocked and angry about what I read. A survey has been done in the UK about rape, and a majority of women believe some rape victims should take responsibility for what happened. You heard very well, it’s not men who think that it’s women.
What they think ?
The article says : “More than half of those of both sexes questioned said there were some circumstances when a rape victim should accept responsibility for an attack”. I knew some people think, when a woman seduce a guy or when she wear very short skirt, they have to be blame. But I always thought it was a minority of people. Instead no, it’s a majority. What are the consequences ? More rape, less prison for rapist, more tolerance for rape… What else ???
I’m really shocked. I don’t know what to think about those people who tolerate rape and more than tolerate, blame the victims. Hey guys, don’t you think the victim is the rapist, the poor guy who has been seduced and of course couldn’t resist when a woman says no? Don’t you think, the victim should g0 in prison as well, to have been too provocative ???
And in France ?
I don’t know what people think in France. I am sure some of them think the victims are not totally victims. But I’m sure of something. It’s a minority who thinks like that. In France, we have a law that condemn husband for rape even in marriage situation. In France, we condemn all the people who abuse of someone else when they have said NO. That’s it. And no question to think about changing anything…
That kind of thinking make women victims of rape even worse than they already are…
Do You Kare ???

In your face Eurostar…
Eh bingo… When the experts had a look after the huge problems of the Eurostar in December they discover how not prepare at all the company was. In theory, Eurostar is just amazing, 2h and a bit more than a half and you are in central Paris and London… Just the best transport ever… But but but…
What the experts said
After several weeks of investigation, the experts concluded that Eurostar didn’t prepare their trains for winter, they didn’t take care of their trains that become quite old and need more precaution. An other point: a big lack of information for the customers. Bouh…
The Eurostar is owned predominantly by the SNCF, let’s French people… So now, my little French fellows, you can all shut up and stop criticize the English system… Because you are doing the same… And on top of that, you are a public transport that is even worst…
Independent experts
Some independent experts from the UK and France among them Christopher Garnett from TFL will give their conclusion on the Eurostar incidents tomorrow… Let’s see if they have the same concerns…
Whatever, Eurostar should be one of the transport ever. And regarding my own experience, it’s not amazing. Delays very often, no real information, the staff not nice especially the French staff… And it’s fucking expensive… At least we pay a lot, so the service should be good enough… The only good stuff are the food in business, the newspapers in business, St Pancras station, and when the Eurostar is on time….
What about you, bad or good experience with Eurostar??? Do you Kare ?
