In England, the french news of day is the about Liliane Bettencourt. L’Oreal heiress is being questioned as a witness. She is been asked about Swiss bank accounts and a Seychelles island.. She seems a bit old and she forgets everything or quite clever and she is taking the piss of everybody… Because she is worth it.
In France, today, newspaper are talking about the Royal Family on Flickr… More than 600 pictures have been uploaded. Even Diana pictures… No kidding … The Queen is modern in spirit as well… or she’s a bitchasse and she asked to put all the pictures of Diana with her wrong profile…
Here we are… Cameron is the new UK Prime minister since yesterday. I would have believed this couldn’t happen. But we need to face it. To be honest my biggest disappointment was when Nick Clegg agreed to form a government with the Conservatives. I couldn’t understand the purpose of this union apart considering the individualist choice of Nick Clegg. I was not agree with the Lib Dem manifesto and ideas, but if you compare it to the Tories one is far far away and closer the Labour one. So what’s the fuck is going to happen…
Conservatives vs Lib Dem : a false union
Traitor
It’s a false union basically. What I hope ? An internal fight soon and of course not some messy decisions that can bring the UK in such a mess that they will need to call another general election. Nick Clegg is considered as an europhil, David Cameron is the opposite. He hates the European Union and wants to disengage UK step by step. So based on that how can they work together. They are also thinking in an opposite way regarding the nuclear power. The economy matters are not the same … So what Nick Clegg wanted… Have personal power without caring at all about people who vote for him. Because majority of people who voted Nick Clegg were ex-Labour disappointed by Gordon Brown but certainly not conservatives.
And Gordon…
Bye Gordon
I was surprised as well about the UK newspapers editorials about Gordon Brown resignation. They criticized him a lot saying it was tactical to get an agreement with the Labour… And what is the problem ? In my opinion he sacrificed himself for his party, for his ideas, for his country… I have so much respect for him. People destroyed him for what ? I would like to have an explanation. Because maybe he has done some mistakes, but he had always recognized them. And who never do mistake in politic ? And he took much more good decisions rather than bad ones. I am really sorry people think about their little personal interests, take of the image of someone rather than his competences…
And for all who wanted a change in this country, I wish you good luck… And don’t cry if you are in the shit because you wanted it.
Unfortunately, It wasn’t a good week for Mr Brown. After the “bigote” thing, the last debate was not his best. All of them were not good. But in my opinion, Gordon Brown should been better in explanation deeper what he has done so far to save the country from the recession. Because yes, without him, I think I would be in France now, because no job insurance here, and no work obviously. And thanks to him, he took very quick and good decisions regarding banks and the financial system in general, he was the best in Europe to know how to solve the crisis problem. So fucking hell Gordon, you should explaining that better… Because after all, you did practical things, visible for everyone in this country and in the UE…
So why this final speech ???
You just said the conservatives and the Lib-Dem won’t be good for your country and you’ll do better. But what ? Don’t blame the others, explain very clearly what you propose and why it is good. That’s what people want to know, they are fed up to see a little battle of parties… What ever it happens now, I wish you anyway very good luck for the 6th may… And even if I completely disagree with you in term of immigration, I wish to stay, to live, to work in a country where left and social ideas take place rather than economics and very capitalist are dominant…
Gordon Gordon Gordon what have you done… Yesterday Gordon Brown met a woman in Rochdale during the election campaign. They talked about immigration and taxes. Til that point everything went well. But when he left her, he called her a “bigote”, not in front of her of course, in his car, but he forgot he had a microphone opened. Everyone has heard that… And I want to say fuck… Because after all, it’s not a big deal to think and say that about someone, but don’t say that in public… Poor Gordon, he forgot the microphone… I am certainly not going to blame him for that, because I think he was probably right, but fucking hell Gordon you could have paid attention of the micro…
My real concern it’s that incident can bring him even more down than he already is… at one week of the election it’s not a good sign. Even if he apologized a lot… Let’s see if people will react badly after this communication mistake and don’t let a stupid thing influence the votes…
Yesterday night, as a lot of people in the UK I watched the second political between the 3 leaders who run for the general election. I was surprised in one hand and not really in the other. This debate is an exercise not really common in the UK as in France it is. But when this morning I saw in different newspapers it was livelier and you can see “with flashes of anger”, I thought: Yes I’m really in the UK, for me this debate was extremely polite and not confrontational. But yes, UK people are like that … not confrontational.
How will it be in France ?
Just watch this video below when Nicolas Sarkozy and Segolene Royal were debating and you will see what is anger, what is confrontational. That is the way it is in France. I’m not saying it’s better not at all. It is just weird as a French person to watch such a debate. I even think is better, because a part Nick Clegg who tried sometimes to cut the other two, they are very respectful with each other. I think in that sense it’s clearer for the audience. But we didn’t see expose real ideas. It was very general. An one thing make, let me amazed, Davide Cameron was able to say : ” I agree with you Gordon” (the subject was the nuclear weapons)… Wahou, I couldn’t believe it. In France, I have never see someone from the opposite party say “I agree with you”.
Now, who won the yesterday debate ?
I forget my personal opinion and I watched it with my journalistic eyes, and being very honest Gordon Brown was the best. Nick Clegg was a bit too sure of himself, over confident, and David Cameron quite normal, nothing more, nothing less…
Some sentences who amazed me as a French person:
“Gordon Brown, giving a far more prime-ministerial performance, opened by admitting: “If it is all about style and PR, count me out”… Great I love that. Don’t vote someone because he doesn’t seem sexy.
“If you vote Conservative you will get a new team and you won’t be stuck with what you’ve got now.” … David what you are saying… That’s a bit obvious, isn’t it? If the Conservatives will win, it will be very different from now… But how??
